Hi everyone.
I read those bad news from Linux Magazine France n=B08, and feel very
angry at this project. At work, we use to develop local aplications such
as managing stocks of furnitures, and so on. If I'm not mistaken, we
could be in trouble if such a project as patents would become a reality,
for we would then have to use a commercial software, instead of having a
product that is developped for us. But that's not all. I use to work on
a Linux system at home too, and have many a project for this system. One
of them would be to make a program that would allow one user to connect
to X-window from Windows on a separate screen, so that both system could
be accessible at one time. This would mean that the compagny that
developped a software called 'vmware' could feel injured by my project
too.
I sincerly think that patents are not a good thing for software.I'll
take one of the examples found at http://www.freepatents.org and send it
as described. Let all of you have a nice day. David BOURIAUD.
