Subject: [Patents] Re: ICANN elections -- Endorsement of a candidate -- URGENT

I and other people sharing our views have known Benhamou for some time.

He is honest, and respected.

He was outraged at the report you read. It may be that he mistated his
position in the agitation of that evening, we shall never know, but he
would not be the first to do that. He tried to have that corrected,
but it seems that the journalists wont let him ... possibly he will
get to write something independant.

In any case, I believe that his web site speaks for him (considering
that patents is not his sole interest in life, as one would expect,
and hope), and the written word is always better than reports of what
he might have said in the unexpected confusion of the Amazon event.

To my knowledge, he still is the only candidate clearly supporting our
positions, with a background and competence that fits the task.

I am sorry that this unfortunate and ill-timed report (which I did
investigate, and that is why I did not write earlier my support
statement) has delayed so much the urgent support for this candidate.

Amicalement

Bernard
