consulting this site it gives only the indication that it is a patent 
APPLICATION, published at 3 july 1997. It gives no indication that it is a 
patent granted, in this case it must be a indication like EP 870264 B1

To be sure that it is a patent granted i suggest consult
http://www.delphion.com/
that gives you the legal status of this patent all over the world !
and it gives as result that this patent is really EP 870264 A1, so it is not 
a patent granted...yet
