I just received confirmation that the dutch representative in Munich
will vote against changes pending the 'official consultation' of the EU.

At the very last moment we (www.vosn.nl) managed to find the relevant 
Members of the Dutch "2e kamer", to inform them of the pending
disaster.  They were not unconditionally convinced of the
evils of software patents, but were sufficiently annoyed by
the fact that the dutch official point of view had been prepared
by the ministry of Economic Affairs without informing the parliament, 
to call upon the Secretary of State to explain himself, with the 
mentioned result.

Now it remains to convince the national politicians of the real
dangers, so that after 15/12 the pro lobby don't get their way
after all.

We are working on a press statement, but I thought I'd break the
important news quickly.
