Insulting, eh ? Is it the manner that a majority of Americans behave
now -- to evade the inconvenient, uncomfortable questions and
issues by regarding them as 'insulting', 'hilarious', 'offencive', etc
??? I think it came with "political correctness" (political crapness)
that infected the whole USA and is coming now to Europe, as the
next disease on that continent (BSE, pig disease, PC, sw-pats ...
that's too much)
But, not for me. I'm a libertarian, I *ignore* political correctness and
I will ask what I want to, to get the answers. Please read one of my
latest e-mails, I've explained there what I mean by the term of
'slavery', and that there are 4 types of slavery. And the last: using
the term 'slavery' was inconvenient to slaveowners, too -- this is
why American Consitution says of 'persons' and 'all others' who
are treated like 3/5 of a human being (the latter contrasted with
'citizens' and 'Indians'). Only in the CSA constitution slavery was
explicitly defined -- maybe because the Southern people were more
open and straightforward ...

Dear Greg, * PLEASE STOP* scarying us with "TRIPS". What is
that the hell ?? After all, WTO stands for *free trade* and the sw-
patents are the *mercantilist*, the *protectionist*, the *anti-market*
and *anti-free trade* CRAP. It flies in the way of the ideas that are
the WTO's foundation.
First, sw-pats DO NOT come explicitly from TRIPS. Second, even
if they do, there would NOT be the case as with American beef that
European officials didn't want to let to entry to the market.
NO. That case was the 'free trade' question. Case (issue) with the
sw-pats is the ANTI-free trade question: should we allow the free
trade and free creation of programs to be stopped to satisfy the
United Shackles' of America anti-market demands ?? NO.
And we (all the anti-patent slavery folks) MUST show the world,
must show the WTO, the EU officials and the public, that sw-pats
are *NOT* something that WTO should stand for. We must show,
that sw-pats were (if they really were) introduced into TRIPS
*BY MISTAKE*, resulting from the lack of (the lawmakers')
knowledge.
Sw-pats could be rather compared to the latest OECD's
(Organization of Enslavement and Ceasing Development)
crackdown on the 'tax havens', with the imperialistic demands to
*introduce the internal income taxes* where there are none -- in
spite of the fact, that those countries *are not* the members of
OECD, nor they are willing to be the ones, and that they are the
sovereign states. OECD will lose, of course. It is losing even now
and we, libertarians, "help" it to fail completely.
Anyway, if we had to make a choice (for the European future) -- it
would be 1000 times better for Europe to withdraw her membership
in WTO, than to introduce the *sw-patent slavery* on her beautiful
soil.

PS. If the law would ignore us (programmers), we would start to
ignore the law. In the era of internet, it isn't the very hard task to
do. Just to encrypt everything ... And voila !! We'll be beyond the
reach of the patents and taxes, too.
