Indeed upon checking I found that the EPO granted exactly the same main
claim plus the same set of 7 dependent method claims.  No extra "technical
effect" goobledegook.

The priority date is 1994-06-23.  I.e. any prior art used to invalidate
this patent must date back to before June 1994.
