Greg,
now you're becoming simply impolite. And thus, I don't feel like being
obliged to be polite with you. either.
So, I will repeat you what I've written to this forum some time ago:
HANDS OFF EUROPE.
Maybe in America, suing somebody is a normal way of life, and a lawyer is
needed for every its domain, in every aspect and in every moment. Maybe 46%
of Americans would die without one lawsuit per week, maybe all the higher
emotions, feelings and normal human relationships sadly disappeared in this
beautiful country, and have been replaced by the infinite greed and the
mother of all tyrannies, that is, the love of power. If it's so, it's really
sad then, that the so-called 'land of the free' now suffers under a regime
near to totalitarian, with PARASITE-like bands of lawyers.
But in Europe, we ARE NOT SO. We have different kind of dealing between
people. Now, when we suffered under state-operated monopolies, there's a
drive towards privatisation, deregulation and open, free markets. Patents are
contradiction, the anti-thesis of the free, laissez-faire market. Oh, you may
call Europe "socialist", but it's becoming lesser and lesser socialist,
believe me.
Few years will pass, and you (and many other people, too) will see the growth
of the European Consciousness -- the feeling of being European, and treating
Europe as our homeland (as some good people in USA do with America). And
then, WE will declare our independence, as the "equal station among the
Earth's powers'. Now, we are culturally independent, and more and more
Euro-conscious. And we don't want the American lawyers messing with our legal
system, be it patent system, penal system (ie. we don't accept capital
punishment), and some other systems so popular in US. It is our INTERNAL
AFFAIR, what we do with patent system, not yours, Greg.
Sure, you have the right to speak yourself out here. Everybody has. But STOP
your lobbying attempts in Europe, or we will start similiar ones in America.
There are many domains that are waiting for patenting, Greg. For example, the
one that has been "patented" (in the way it required the official permission)
-- sex, that is. The world f..k really meant "free under certificate of
king", where "free" stood for 'allowed to', 'permitted', while 'king' was the
King of England, who required people to obtain such permission before they
procreate. More people make sex than write computer programs -- so, what are
you waiting for ???
Or, be it, patent interracial marriages. There was a big outrage against them
in America in last decades, so the demand for such 'services' might be high,
too.
Or, finally, patent music and literature. It's also an 'industry', music
especially. Or, is it too monopolised to be stiffled to death by patenting,
what do you think, Greg?
Anything you do, DO IT in USA, *NOT* in Europe. Once we've denounced and
abolished slavery (esp. the 'negro slavery'), while many Americans have
"stood up" for this "right" and demanded its "protection", and it lasted till
the War Between The States (which I don't want to speak of). We've done it
peacefully, without demolishing a half of a country first, as the Northern
bandit generals did with the South. We really don't want to mess with your,
American internal affairs, Greg. Y'all in USA may have the sodomy laws,
software patents, war on drugs, DMCA and other stupid things. But we, in
Europe, DO NOT want to have them. As Thomas Jefferson said "peace and
friendship with every nation, entangling alliances with NONE".
Y'alls in Liberty,
