Subject: A set of slides arguing software patents less threatening


    I have posted to my Web (www.bustpatents.com/PDF/softgood.pps) a
set of Powerpoint slides titled "Business and Economic Impact of
Software Patents", prepared by an IP lawyer with SRI International.
He argues that software patents are less threatening than patents in
other areas of technology, and in some cases increase competition.
This is not to excuse the majority of issued software patents which
are either not novel and/or obvious.

        You all are welcome to download the slides.
