The IPR-helpdesk.org project will be relaunched with support from UNICE
(association whose public policy is dominated by patent departments of
large companies and closely coordinated with the EPO through its advisory
committee as well as informal channels) and others.

As before, the main thrust seems to be in patent movement building in
universities and SMEs with the help of EU money.

The IPR-Helpdesk is organising a free-of-charge event at the ‘Palais de
Justice’ in Brussels, on 4 July 2002. This event aims at presenting the

The IPR-Helpdesk project is based on the experience achieved in a pilot

European organisations coordinated by the University of Alicante (Spain),
since 1 January 2002.

The main objective of the IPR-Helpdesk is to assist potential and current
contractors taking part in Community funded research and technological
development projects on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) issues, and in
particular on Community diffusion and protection rules and issues relating
to IPR in international research projects.

The IPR-Helpdesk’s launch event will take place at the “Palais de Justice”

international research projects under the 6th Framework Programme for
Research and Technological Development. Additionally, other projects
integrated in the Innovation and SMEs Programme will present their
