SAP has about a dozen swpat.  They started only in 1997 because before
that they thought that software is not patentable in Europe.

> Patents may aid a little bit the things for EU companies
> in EU grounds, even I admit that it's not so much.

You have yet to explain how they could aid at all.
There is nothing for you to "admit" for now, since you have not yet
exposed any hypothesis that anyone could have contested.

Who is that "soft" lobby?

The basic rules of patents can't be modified.

which?

You are confusing issues.
What you quoted is a statement about business strategy.
A business has to adapt to the given environment, however bad the rules
are.
We are now talking about how the rules should be set.
And you are apparently advising us to accept whatever CEC/BSA/EPO
legislate for us.
Meanwhile you claim to have an approach but repeatedly fail to disclose
what it is.
I even suspect that your Linus quote is falsely attributed.
Linus has repeatedly stated that he considers swpat to be "stupid".
Many people are willing to obey something stupid, but such people will not
be political leaders, and Linus, although not as political as RMS, is
certainly not one of those lemmings.
