Pilch,

To my this is a remarkable thing. I don't feel any sympathy. Although I
do condemn the abuse of copyrighted material I don't feel that people
can feel free to play their own judge. In some countries do have a
judicial system that takes care of crimes. That system is based on
little details like proof. Now the RIAA starts playing police, district
attorney and judge (and in America also jury) in one role. In the old
days my ancestors applauded in 1848 a consitution that gave people basic
rights. Then people can fight the charges brought against them. And for
some people the MP3 may even be a form of fair use.

This method sucks. One example: violating copyrights is punishable by 6
months in prison, while hacking can be punished for upto 4 years in
prison. So the response is not in sync with the seriousness of the
unproven crime. Just my two cents.

Cheers,

Brenno.
