He is certainly not against swpat, but swpat are not his pre-occupation.
He wants the mess of co-existence of EU law with EPC to be cleared up.
> Bert Doorn (he is clearly pro swpat from amendments)
I can't confirm that.
> Piia-Noora Kauppi (unclear)

Not against, but, like Manders, mainly concerned with legal system design.
> Maria Berger (she seem pro sw pat from amendments)
blind follower of DKPTO/CEU

position. Strange because her austrian socialist party is not in the
government and therefore not in any way bound by that paper.
> Werner Langen (he is clearly pro swpat from amendments and comments)
Probably the shield behind which Wuermeling is hiding this time. Which
may mean that Wuermeling wants to keep options open for himself.
> Malcom Harbour (he seem pro sw pat from amendments)
UK conservative, an old tool of the patent lobby, already used in other
commissions for the same purpose.
> Jannely Fourtou (she seem pro sw pat from amendments)
Wants multimedia products to be patentable, trusts Alcatel patent
department. Her husband, CEO of Vivendi, has an interest in selling
Vivendi divisions to Microsoft, as analysed here before. Aside from
possible business interests, there is probably a feeling of allegiance
between plutocrats which is quite independent of whether Vivendi really
benefits from swpat.
> Anne-Marie Schaffner (she seem pro sw pat from amendments)
From the same party as Fourtou, blindly follows Fourtou.
> Ward Beysen (he seem pro sw pat from amendments)
> Willy C.E.H. De Clercq (he is clearly pro swpat from amendments and

I wonder how these two got picked out for the disgraceful job.
De Clercq, former belgian prime minister, has quite a name to lose and is
not stupid. I assume that he is knowingly doing something wrong here.
> Arlene McCarthy (unclear)
Of course very pro-swpat,
http://swpat.ffii.org/papers/eubsa-swpat0202/amccarthy0302/
but I haven't analysed to what extent she may have dropped some of her
worst amendment proposals seen in the report.
