I will translate from one letter:

Community patent law will base on EPC. But this needs, that European Union 
becomes a member of European Patent Organization (EPO. Btw, is EPO also 
official shortening from European Patent Office?). But this needs changes in 
the EPC and that will take some time, it will probably happen in 2008-2010. 
In that case EPO will give out also Community patents, which will base on the 
EPC.

So, I still don't get the idea. Why this CP? What can change?



And from (the latest I think, it was discussed 7-8.05) one verison of the 
Community Patent law the only thing that is concretly about computers:

"Limitation of the effects of the Community patent.
The rights conferred by the Community patent shall not extend to:"
[...]
"the acts allowed pursuant to Articles 5 and 6 of Directive 91/250/EEC on the 
legal protection of computer programs by copyright, in particular, by its 
provisions on decompilation and interoperability."
