The order paper is now up for the the JURI meeting of May 21/22,
confirming that they are looking to vote and adopt the draft report on
Wednesday.

(Item 8)

Three compromise amendments have been moved (English language only so
far).

One, tabled by Giuseppe Gargani, gives a unified text for the amendment
on program claims, relacing Am 57 (Rothley), Am 58 (Berger), Am 60
(Langen) and Am 61 (Harbour et al).

The text is almost identical to Am 62 (Beysen) = Am 64 (de Clercq).

The other two, tabled by Arlene McCarthy, replace Am 72 and Am 73 (the
call by Toine Manders for the directive to be withdrawn).

Instead they add to Article 7 ("Monitoring") that the Commission should
examine how the requirements of the Directive have been taken into
account in the practice of the EPO and its examination guidelines; and
should also examine in what respects it may be necessary to prepare for
a diplomatic conference to revise the European Patent Convention.
