So what we basically should do is find lots of people and a way
to coordinate them, make them effective. I don't know any such
way, but if we ever get to that, we'll have "free politics", just
as now we have "free software".
The usual solution is putting 1 million people in the street, which
I don't see feasible, who knows. But anyway, we badly need better press
realations. (note: I'm told journalist are in similar bounded resources
for analysis, so it isn't easy either).
But people say JURI is not representative of the whole EP. We can still
win in plenary. If we try.
In my opinion crucial is behaviour of the Socialist group, especially
members from UK. Is not possible to organize together with the PES a
conference somewhere in summer just before September vote?
To strengthen our position we should not limit our efforts to
Europarliament.
More as once a week I see at TV that Claire Short is taking position not
correct from New Labour point of view. She is for us very appropriated
person to approach and ask for help because the world owes to her the
Commission on Intellectual Property Rights and the report on IPR and
Development http://www.iprcommission.org/index.html . As a member of
Blair cabinet she was reponsible for British relations with developing
world.
