And my personal opinion is that democrats make democratic laws, not the
converse. Countries with good and evolving democratic laws can "blow" into
totalitarianism quickly (remember Argentina?).

[By the way, not "everything" can derive into totalitarianism. You need a
special social and economical ground.]

If we look at the problems of patents on software only with the eyes of a
Jurist, we may well miss part of the problem at stake.

The question is broader than written laws or even interpretation of written
laws. The question at stake is a question of democracy, social consensus,
economical peace and development and much more.

The question includes law as a component, but does not stem to it. We
probably
agree on that point... But "Undemocratic" laws with "totalitarianism "germs
must be faught by any means. Without waiting for court interpretation.

If we ask IBM to "<<<defend>>>" free software, we feed the idea that
commercial law is superior to Civil Law, the Constitution and our Civil
Rights. This can never happen.

If you are watching "Star Academy" in France on Saturday night, do not
hesitate to drop a mail if you see Mr. "Old-Timer" Coward singing an
"Old-song" on scene. These marketing shows only revisit old song.

I will be watching "Brazil" (http://www.trond.com/brazil) to study the EPO
proposal for a future society.

Best regards,
Jean-Michel
