We are under the threat of a lawsuit : looking for help

Europe Shareware received this morning a letter from law firm Jenkens &
Gilchrist where they ask us to buy a license for the US 4,698,672 patent
of Compression Labs (the JPEG patent).

They already filed a patent infringement action on April 22 against 31
companies (mainly large corporations such as Apple).


Considering that some people on this mailing list have an "experience" of
patent threats, we would like to know how you handle that kind of letter.

Our main problem is that Sony already paid them USD 16 million. They set
a legal precedent.
