Dear Greg,

Thanks for your colourful input.

Your logic is over simplistic. What you are saying effectively is that
anything that is created by "thinking" should be an invention in the sense
of patent law. I don't think even most patent extremists would go this far..

> Well, Internet protocols are devised by thinking (though maybe your
> protocols are devised without any thinking).

You are too kind.

>     - to produce (as something useful) for the first time through
>       the use of the imagination or of ingenious thinking and
>       experiment.

Are you telling me that when I write down lines of code on a piece of paper
that I don't know what the computer is going to do with them- and this
requires experimentation? I think this would make the programmer's job
impossible...

> Well, Internet protocols are produced/written (as something useful) for
> the first time (version 1.0 of protocol drafts implies first) through
> the use of the imagination or of ingenious thinking (about protocols)
> and experiment (using a technical protocol engineering design tool).
^In English does this mean a computer and
keyboard?

So have you patented the concept of :

"Schlocky ill-informed art patenting information system whereby :

1) User logs into Terminal A

2) User sends request data from Terminal A to server

3) Article is Transmitted from said server containing:

a) Misleading fluff about dictionary definitions of an invention
b) confusion with literal and legal terminology
c) Waffle about bad patents but no offered solutions except costly prior art
searches and more patents.
d) Illogical arguments to abolish copyright and further extend patenting

4) User becomes delirious

5) User begins to think that every idea they have is an invention under law

6)User obtains patent from PTO and begins trivial litigation claim

=> 7) Thereby increasing welfare of patent professionals and generating more
prior art searches (useful)

GLOBAL PTO BUSINESS PROCESS PATENT ISSUED: #4868342238958

Wow the future is bright suddenly.

If you want a monopoly of this market I would for once welcome the patent
being issued.

Regards,

Chris
