Hello all,
Perhaps the following information is of your interest.

Wlodzimierz Marcinkski, Deputy Minister for Scientific Research and
Information Society Technologies of the Republic of Poland, today send in
his speech meant for the first international Holland Open Software
Conference. Due to many obligations and a broken wrist he is not able to
attend HOSC on May 30-June 1, but he wanted to make sure his statement would
be heard. I consider for that reason his speech to be free for publication.
We will of course make sure someone will present the speech on his behalf.

There is also a debate on the issue, with Erik Josefsson, Philips patent
attorney Arnoud Engelfriet, former MEP Johanna Boogerd and two leading
professors on software engineering who presented a sharp (pre-)analysis of
the situation, by researching just one trivial claim (by Microsft). They
promised not to let loose on the issue and they announced today there is
substantially "more" underway. Paul Klint and Jan Bergstra who have an
international reputation will "wake up" their collegues.
