NewsForge just reported on the new EU patent legislation project:
http://business.newsforge.com/business/06/01/24/1645229.shtml?tid=110

The NewsForge author got most of the facts right but I have to clarify
something concerning the announcement of "another Web campaign". I just
told him that an activist (not myself) was going to do something on the Web
to draw attention to certain issues in connection with the EV50 Europeans of
the Year poll. Whether I'll personally get involved again as a campaigner
is uncertain at this juncture (as I told ZDNet
http://news.zdnet.co.uk/business/0,39020645,39248676,00.htm it's possible
but not a given), and even if I were to fight the fight once more, it would
then be another question whether I would again do a Web campaign (other than
a blog on the Web site for my book on the software patent story, which will
soon be published in English and German).

Best regards,

Florian
