Hello all,

simo <simo.sorce@xsec.it> a Ã©crit :
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/09/26/technology/26patent.html?ex=1159934400&en=c3eb8a2bc7f7a219&ei=5070&emc=eta1

Interesting link.

IBM finally recognizes publicly that patents are a "huge barrier" !

Not quite. IBM just says that "dubious" patents are a threat
to them, because of trolls. But as it is explained some paragraphs
later :

"It remains committed, for example, to software patents, which have stirred opposition in Europe and elsewhere. And the company plans to continue to be a leader in patent filings."

So, this is not good news : they are just tring to make
people figure out that the patent problem is just a matter
of quality, in the software domain too.

A+,
