GregNews slams an "Anti-Business Patent Editorial" of the New York Times, with
the usual claims about how "unscientific" any attempt to limit patentability
is.

I leave out the GregNews rants and just quote some of the quotes from NYT:

[...rant...]

"The broken American system has a knack for sanctioning the
ridiculous.  In the latest example, businesses are receiving
patents for devising ways to obey the law - the code, to be
more specific.  What's next, a patented murder defense?"

[...rant...]

"Once the Patent and Trademark Office has granted one of these
patents, everyone who used the same legal shelter - even if
they drew the conclusion based on their own interpretation of
the tax code - would be subject to lawsuits and even injunctions
    against using the method."

[...rant...]

"Tax-strategy patents, they argue [supporters of such patents],
are more geared toward the complicated tax returns of rich
people." and "The easy stuff [obvious methods] should be
rejected under the usual standard that requires patents to be
    novel and not obvious."

[...rant...]
